HAIG'S GENERALS
APPOINTED TO HOME COMMANDS. (Rec. March 31, 9.55 p.m.) London, March 30. The Press Bureau announces that General Sir Harry llawlinson has been appointed to the Aldershot command, and General Horne to the .Eastern command. Mr. Churchill (Minister for War) offered Sir lan Hamilton the Northern command, intimating that General Sir Henry Wilson (Chief of the General Staff) concurred with Sir William Robertson that there was nothing in General Hamilton's command of tho Allied forces at Gallipoli which ought to preclude him from reemployment. Sir lan Hamilton declined on the ground that younger men should be given a chance. Sir Julian Byng declined the Southern command for a similar reason—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.Reuter.
