At a meeting of the committee of tlio Masterton branch of the Fnrmera'Umon, held on Wednesday, it was decided to urgo upon tho Board of Agriculture to fully investigate tho introduction of the cattle tick into Now Zealand, and to tuke the necessary steps to have the infested districts isolated, so as to prevent the spread of ho parasite to other parts of New Zealand. Tho price paid for the property is in the neighbourhood of <£40 per acre. At a meeting of the AVairarapa Egg Circle, hold at Carterton, it was decided that a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. D. lveid, J. A. llayne, M. Jonnston, and W. Tucker, bo empowered to carry out the working of the Carterton branch of the circle. Tho matter of stamping all eggs handled by the circle was gono into, and it .was decided that in future members must adhere to the rules and all eggs must he stamped before g;oing on to the market. The Distinguished Conduct Medal lias been awarded to Sergeant W. L. Free son of 3lr. S. L. P. Eree, S.M., of Masterton. At a meeting of the Board of Managers of the Mosterton Technical School, Mr. J. M. Coradine was re-elected chairman for tho ensuing year.
