ACCIDENT ON THE ( WHARF. Whilst engaged in working on the wharf on Saturday a waterside worker named J. Anderson was struck by ft sling and received an injury to his hip, which necessitated his removal' to the' hospital, where he was admitted at 3 p.m. The hospital authorities reported last evening that Anderson was making satisfactory progress." DEATH OF A BABY. A little baby named Willie Briggin, aged 5 months, was found dead in -nis bed at his home at Eastbourne at 6 o'clock yesterday morning. The deceased child was put to bed with another child at the registered home of Mrs. Stan', at Muritni, Eastbourne, on Saturday night, and was then in a normal healthy state. It had previously been in other homes, and according to information supplied by the police was a healthy child. On being attended to at 6 o'clock yesterday morning the child was feund quite dead; and its appearance suggested that .it had been accidentally suffocated. An inquest .will be held, but the*, date has not yet been fixod. ■ FOUND DEAD. - a married woman named Rosomand Davidson was found dead in Tier ■ homo in Eodi'igo Road, Kilbirnie, on Saturday afternoon. Tho deceased had been living apart from her husband and was visited occasionally by a lady friond. When her friend called on Saturday at •4 p.m. she found deceased lying on tho floor of heriroom fully clothed and quite dead. The matter was reported to the police and the deceased was removed to the morgue. There were no marks of violence on the body. An inquest will be held at <3.20 p.m. to-day. ANOTHER I'EFMFLB ACCIDENT. A lad named Gordon Wilson, aged 15 years, who resides at No. 19 Alma Lane, was accidentally shot by a pea rifle at Wadestown at 4 p.m. yesterday. The bullet struck Wilson on the 'left hip, causing an'injury which necessitated his removal to the hospital, wher<« lie was admitted at 8.80 o'clock last night. He is progressing favourably. ■
