STANDING TIMBER

NEW FORESTRY POLICY. Very important regulations are gazetted to give effect to some part of tho new policy of the Government -in forestry. The regulations aro as follow: 1. It shall not bo lawful for any person to sell any timber stailding on any public or private land of any tenuro, or to grant a license' to cut any timber standing on any such land, except pursuant to a licenso issued in that behalf by tho Governor-General-in-C'ouncil. 2. Any license issued by the Governor-GMieral-in-Couiic.il under theso regulations may bo in like manner revoked. !!. Every person who sells any standing timber, or who grants a licenso to cut any standing timber, contrary to the provisions of these regulations, commits an efTenco against these regulations, and (shall be liable for each offence to a f.ne of ,£SO.
