FINANCIAL OUTLOOK IN FRANCE

GROUND FOR ANXIETY. Paris, March 22, The financial situation,in France is causing disquietude. The .franc depreciated considerably in tho past week, and' touched 27.00 for the pound sterling, with an average of 27.1-I—a l'iso of 1.1-1 for the week. This depreciation is said to be due to the modification of the financial relations between France and Britain. The feeling in financial circles is that France should make,a. plain statement as to how tho Budget i& to be balanced, and also that s-he is relying too much on a German indemnity, instead of put ting her house in order. The Reparation Commission has practically made littli progress; indeed, it has not yet arrived at an agreement in principle. The matter may end in the Council of Tel; having to solve the problem.—Aus.-N.Z Cable Assn.
