Koot dealt with tho difficult problems of reconstruction. and. commenting 011 the need of wisdom at the piface conference, lie said: "No man can frame tho timetable of the Almighty." The old barbarian principle, he said, had been laid i" the dust, and Christian civilisation had triumphed. Violation of the moral law had brought its own punishment.
