MEETING OF PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE. (Special Correspondent.) Palmerston North, March 27. The monthly meeting ofvtlie provincial executive of the Farmers' (jntuu was held at Palmerston Nortlr to-day. There were present the president, Mr. G. L. Marshall (Feilding), in the chair, and Messrs. W. 11. Buck (llarton), J. A. M'Lcavey and J. Balsillie (PnWistpn North), •E. Law (Shannon),: [I. Booth (Feilding), IT. Kevins (Te Nui), E. Citinpbell (Wairarapa), A. Robinson (Wanganui), W. Douglas (Masterton), Sir James Wilson (Bulls), and D. H'/benton, organising secretary l'or the Wairarapa sub-pro-vincial district. Intimation ivas received from the union headquarters thnt (lie Dominion levy for the year had been fixed at Us. permember. The Wairarapa sub-provincial executive wrote objecting to the increase in tin; present levy of 12>. per member in the sub-provincial districts. In condemning any increase in llif levy, Mr. Kevins said thr.t. (lie oxecutive in Wellington was being starved. The chairman explained the financial aspect of the matter, and pointed out thnt with the proposed extension of (he office the expenditure would increase (o such an extent that it. would bo impossible to carry on with a lew kvv. The delegates should he pnid out of pocket expenses, otherwise (key would only get the ljlg men fo attend. H'e pointed out that in the AVairnrapa. they were able to do without an official organiser, but tlint wns not the ease in this centre, and that being so, the Wairarapa would probably be entitled to get :t certain proportion'of the levy refunded.

The meeting then went into committee lo further consider Hie mailer of finances, and it was (jvcntiinlly decided to leave tlie matter to be considered at a conference botwen the executive and representatives of llie Wairawipa sub-district. The Pahatilanui branch of the Wellinglon Provincial Disirict forwarder «£U collected in aid of the Kitchener Scholarship Fund, and the meeting instructed the secretary to ascertain from the Government what was bein" done in the mutter of these scholarships.
