MOTION- FOE PART CONTROL BY . IiAILWAYMEN. - " Cape Town, Maxell 25. In tho Union Assembly Mr. Cresswell moved a motion iu favour of tbo reeonstitution of tho Railway Board, to consist of an equal number of Government nominees and railway servants.

Tho Minister of Railways declined to accept the motion on the ground that it meant giving 35.000 railway employees equal representation with the whole of tho rest of the community. The .proposal meant ruin and disaster. Ho announced that the Government was establishing a Conciliation Board to deal with questions of hours, pay, and cognato matters.

An amendment was. moved in favonr of an Advisor} , . Council equally representative of the Government and the railwaymen. . x
