SPEEDY COMPLETION URGED. By Telegraph—Press Association Chi'istchurch, March 26. At the committee meeting of the Canterbury Progress League to-day, the following motion was carried: ''That the Minister of Public Works be strongly urged to take steps to proceed with the construction of the Otirq, Tunnel at a greater rate of progress, by employing more men at an adequate wage consistent with the nature of the work, so that the line may wore. speedily become remunerative, i'nd- save the present loss of interest on the amount already expended, which can best be achieved by the early linking up of the east and west coasts."
