The fields were- very small, and m only two of (lie races was a second dividend paid. M'Mtthon thero was m> steward present. The J.idicia Committee bad a P n easy time of it, and thero were no protests during the day. Irenlhaiu stables did well, no fewer than five events fiillini? to local representatives. _ There were only four runners in the Trill Stakes. The public made the Hallowmas filly Ne?ligeo a short-priced favourito. and they were unlucky to ose, an she and Miss L«ss wero left about twenty lengths. Printempts was in charge the whole way, and at the finish won by two lengths from the favourite. Hyndes wns close up third, and Hiss Lass was beaten oft". The winner has been up no lime, and though be was lucky to win, he look; 1;1cl> turning out useful. _ lie is by ■Yutmmms from Rene, and is the first 0/ iliat iiuire-'s progeny to race. Tho starters in tho Telegraph Hack Handicap numbered live, and Vascovia. was a slightly belter favourite than Transmission. Matatua was first away, and, followed by Vnscovin, lie led into the straight. A furlong from home the others joined in, but in a great finish Matntuiv held his own and won by s neck, whilo Vascovia beat Tuticorn by a head.
