"TARZAN OP THE APES." Tho last tlireo nights for'the screening of "Tarzanof tho Apes" ut.'tho Grand Opera' House aro-iinnounccd. There was another largo attendance at the screening last ovening;. the jungle scenes, with tho many ivild animals,'were'much appreciated. There is a distinct story, for it is the presentation in picture form of a story by a well-known author. There aro quite a number of striking? scenes and tho story ends pleasantly. The picture is shown to the accompaniment of a full orchestra. The screening will bo repeated this evening, l'ridav, and Saturday, and there will be a matinee on Saturday. KING'S THEATRE. A Select masterpiece film, "Tho .Whirlpool," has been an attractive feature of tho Kind's Theatre bill all this week. Miss Alico Brady, the heroine, plays a powerful part with all her well-known grace and emotional power. "The Whirlpool" b supported by the second episode of "The Scarlet Runner," "His Lesson." a sterling comedy, "Beautiful Eastbourno," tho latest Gaumont Graphic, "Hunting the Aigrette in Amorjca," and, a 9 an ndded attraction, Miss Ivio Eodda, Australian contralto, sings most acceptably. Tho King's Grand Orchestra supply the incidental music. Vull orchestral matinees are advortised for every Wednesday and Saturday at 2.15. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. The double attraction at Everybody's Theatre was greeted with warm enthusiasm by a crowded house Inst night. Charlie Chaplin in "A Dog's Life" provides one of the funniest acts this artist has prodnowi. "You Can't Believo Everything" gives Gloria Swanson ample opportunity to display her charms, while the additional .-attraction of Miss. Flo Gow, who contributed a delightful character sketch, met with the heartiest applause. Tho programme is vupporled with strong incidental pictures, with musical accompaniments by Everybody's Orchestra, EMPRESS THEATRE. Grace Dartnond and Earle Williams have the. chief parts in "The Girl in His House," the drama now showing at the Empress Theatre. Charlie Chaplin causes shrieks of laughter in "The Rink." Another attraction is a firm showing the arrival of the Hororala draft.
RETURN OF ANTONIA DOLORES.
"When. 6lie last aiJiiearetl in Wellington an unfortunate cold prevented Mdlle. Antonia Dolores, the French, soprano, from singing at her last concert, and she promised then she. would return, so that her numerous admirers and those who were disappointed on that occasion would have aii opportunity of saying farewell. Mdlle. Dolores has completely recovered and is reported to lie singing in her best term. Mdlle. Dolores and her concert party will therefore give the farewell concerts in the Grand Opera House on March 25,' 27, and 28. Entirely now programmes have been arranged for these concerts. Mdlle. Dolores possesses a soprano voice mellifluous in quality and extensive in range, embellished by a (lawless production, a perfection of technique, purity of enunciation, and an almost limitless variety of expression, enabling her to interpret every phase of vocal emotion, from the. depth of pathos to joyous hilarity, and her linguistic attainments afford her the power of; singing' in various tongues. For tho opening concert of the : fai-ewel season Mdlle. Dolores will delve into Mozart and sing the recitative "Ctiiiise Alfin" ("Lo Nozze do Figaro''), and the aria "Deh Yieni" (Mozart). The programme altogether will be one of those well arranged and diversified programmes that tho public come to look forward to from Dolores.Mr. John Prouse, baritone, and Mr. Harold Smith, pianist, will be the assisting. artists, The plan opens at the Bristol; Piano Company to-day for the three concerts, while, concessions are again announced for students and schools.
