THE YEAR'S RETURNS.

The annual report of tho Lyttelton Harbour Board for -last yeav stated that taking into account the disorganisation of shipping duo to tho war, .the board's revenue hud remained fairly satisfactory. The earnings for the year amounted to .£03,562, or .£3835 more than during 1017. 'The wharfage returns showed a'decrease of MIS, due to the of 12,075 tons' in quantity of goods passing over tlio board's wharves. The value of tho exports from Lyttelton was JC3.225/128. a decroaso of .£700,81.'1. There was an increaso in value of imports, which were .£3,781,115, an increase of. .£537,25*. 'The number of vessels that entered the port during 1918 was 1811, a decreaso on the previous year of 112. The total <tonnage was 1,128,900, a decrease of 26'1,5. I JB tons compared with the previous year.
