THE WAIKARE WRECK

SALVAGE PARTY'S OPERATIONS. Hr Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, March 17. The steamer Mauaroa has returned from Dusky Sound, where she went to carry out salvage 'operations on the wrecked steamer Waikare. A diver succeeded in recovering a quantity of gear close to the hull. The salvage party is still carrying on operations. It is auticipated that after the diver has made a 'hole .in the hull no difficultly will bo experienced in recovering the Waikare's internal fittings. The vessel is lying on her port side and the hull is showing for 40 feet in low water.
