The Minister of Agricultiiro (Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald) stated yesterday tlial ho hart made further urgent representations to the Prime Minister, for trans mission to the Imperial authorities, re Sardine; the- provision • of rcfrige-'ata' space for New Zealand, tie had ims-c" the importance of hastening the shipment of frozen meat aml freeing 'spaain tho congested stores. His messages had emphasised the urgency of the' matter. 'Mr.' Mac Donald added that he understood similar representations had been made by the Minister in Charge of Imperial Supplies (Hon. I). H. Guthrie), who is at present away from Wellington. •
Mr. Mac Donald mentioned that he was making inquiries concerning the suggestion that Australian shippers' wore being unduly favoured in the allocation of epace >by tho Australian Shipping Board, which decides what share of the refrigerated space provided for Australasia shall go to New Zealand. He was trying to get exact figures -regarding quantities .shipped and in store.
