The .British Ministry of Labour announces that on Appointments Department has been formed for ■' tlio purpose .of placing prospective ■ employers in touch with demobilised British officer* and men of similar educational qualifications. A:very large number of applications W posts overseas has been received, and to deal with these tho Appointments Department l>as opened two special directorates at Grosham House, London, E.C.—Directorate No. XII for openings in the outer Hritish Empire,' and Directorate No. XIII for those in foreign countries. The applicants for appointments comprise some of the best of the Motherland's manhood, and may be divided roughlv into tliret , classes, viz. (I) un"Men, chiefly composed of those who joined the Army straight from public school or university: (2) wini-*vaii>ed men, whose, education wa< interrupted by the outbreak of yai'v and (S) trained men. While the i'riti?li Government lias made elaborate ■ arrangements for training men for any position, it is realised that in many cases overseas emplovers wohld latlie.r obtain a good man and *(rnin him themselves.
