FALL FBOM. A CAE
Charles Bowern, a man CG years-of age, in the employ of Mr. S. Gilmer, of the Eoval Oak Hotel, dropped his purse from a tramcar yesterday afternoon, and in jumping from the car to recover it, whilst the car was in motion, tell lioavilv on to the wood blocks. He bumped hi« head badly, and when picked up was found to be suffering from concussion of the brain. lie was removed to the General Hospital for attention.
CASE OF SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Pws Association. Dupedin, March IG. At the inquest held >a t Paliuerston South on Saturday touching the death ol William Johnston M'Cara Boss, who was found dead in bed at the residence of his father, Mr. James Boss, at Bnsbey Boad, with a revolver at his side, tho evidence showed that the deceased was a single man, aged 4?. and was strong and healthy until he went to tho Boer War, where' he contracted enteric fever. Hβ was also thrown from a horse about twelve vears ago, and was unconscious for nined ays. He complained of feeluig weak, and sometimes suffered from tits of depression. The jury returned a verdict to the effect that the cause of death was a bullet < wound, self-inflicted, while deceased was suffering from temporary insanity. |
