. The transport Westmoreland, which is expected to reach New Zealand about April 12, is bringing. 55 officers and 978 other ranks of the New Zealand Pioneer Battalion. A cablegram received by the Minister of Defence states that there are aboard the Westmoreland 129 Maoris for Wellington. 170 for Hawke's Bay, 13 for T.iranakj, &">!l for Auckland, and 68 i foi- the South Inland. - There are remaining in France and England* 352 .Maoris, mostly in hospital. 'J'ho Minister lias telegraphed for information as to what number of East Coast Maoris are included in the Auckland quota, but no reply has yet been received. The owners of tlio ship consider Hint there are difficulties about landing troops at Gisborne.-
