He was bom in New Plymouth 52 years ago, his father being District Judge there. On completion of his scholastic studies he took an appointment as cadet, in tins Magistrate's Court in his native town. Ha'Vas Clerk of the Court for six years at Masterton, and was elevated to the magistracy in IMS, at Westport. He relieved in Auckland lor a few months and then came to Hamilton. Mr. Tlawson had a very wide circuit, including (he King Country. He leaves a widow, two daughters, and a son, who is serving on the 'Western front.

A Press Association telegram from Auckland' states that Mr. Gu.nspn has decided to stand for re-election as Mayor of Auckland.

'Mr L T. Keichel, whose death occurred at Island Bay yesterday, was formerly Government electrician, and was well known as the inventor, of the Koichel automatic fire alarm and several other inventions. Born at Orepuki (Southland), he came to Wellington U years ago, and five years later he wiis appointed Government electrician, which position he relinquished to go abroad and exploit , his various inventions. He was n prominent member ot the Utliolic Church, and took an active interest in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the New Zealand Catholic Federation, ami the Catholic Club's Debating Society. Three years ago his health broke down, and his death wai not. unexpected. He leaves a widow (daughter of the late Mr. David Scanlon), but 110 family.
