Cable Assn. A JAPANESE REVERSE. Tokio, March 8. Two companies of Japanese infantry and a battery of artillery engaged a Bolshevik force of tenfold strength north of Alexsersko. The Japanese were practically annihilated. There were 500 Bolshevik casualties. The Japanese defeated a strong Bolshevik detachment west of Blagovestchenk.—Renter. LENIN ANALYSED GERMAN AGENT AND WORLD UPSETTER. Washington, March 9., Mr. David R. I'rancis' (American Ambassador to Russia), describing to the Propaganda Committee the conditions in •Russia, said there was no question that Lenin was a German agent, but he was concerned more with starting a world revolution than serving Germany. Iveronsky failed to arrest Trotsky and Lenin when tho opportunity offered. Lenin was a clever fanatic, and the brains of the movement. The Russian Bolsheviki during the past _ fortnight have murdered four grand' dukes for participation in an alleged monarchist plot.
