BOY KILLED AT PETONE
TRIES TO QUIT MOVING TRAIN.
In attempting to leave tile 5.27 p.m. tram from Lambton as it drew 'into Petone Station, Harold James, aged 11, whose parents reside at G2 Richmoud f 'i ~ etone > missed his footing- and fell between the rails. The train passed over him, and ho was killed instantly. • I' a Ppeirs that'the lad had visited Wellington along with a party of schoolchildren to see the picture of the German naval surrender screened. He was returning, with the others, under the cara of Messrs. C. N. Ilaslam and E. King, masters at the Main School, Petone. It is alleged that ho had left the party and had gone to another carriage before he made his fatal attempt to quit tlia moving train. An inquest will be held at Petone to. day. . ■
