Tho fact that tho Mayor was not prepared (o say that he did not intend to again offer himself for the Mayoral chair fitrenetkens the rumour that a movement is afoot to deputatiinise Mr. Luke to ask him to once more accept nomination, COUNCILLOR NORWOOD NOT TO STAND. . Councillor C..8. Norwood will not be a candidate for the Mayoralty. He osreed. with Messrs. W. H. P. Barber, 0. Frost, and L. M'Kenzie ■ to 6ubmit himself to the. council for selection as a candidate, and the council's choice fell upon Councillor Berber. If the Labour Representation Committee puts forwar.d a candidate for the Mayoralty rumour has it that its choice will be Mr. H. Holland, M.P.
