KARORI BOROUGH AFFAIRS
MEETING 'OF THE COUNCIL. The Mayor (Mr. B. G. H. Burn) presided at the ordinary meeting of the Karori Borough Council held last eveninn,. There were present Councillors W. Skegj:, B. L. Tingey, J. W. Henderson, J!. T. Pell, H. E. Dryden, and W. G. Bradnock. A letter was' received from Hie secretary of the Municipal Association askin? for the opinion of- the council as to whether it would be advisable to hold the annual conference after the Town Planning- Conference in May, or whether it should be held during the session of Parliament. It was decided to recommend that the conference be held during .the.session. , ■' The council necepted an invitation from the Wellington Accountant Students' Society to attend a lecture to be delivered by Mr. B. E. Murnhy, on. "The Present Industrial Unrest." The resolution of the Devonport Council strongly urging upon tho Government the advisability of repatriating as soon as possible, all alien prisoners of war, both military nnd civilian interned in the Dominion, was endorsed.
