LIVE STOCK SALES
Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, aud Co., Ltd., report having hold their usual sale at Martinborou&h on Thursday last, when they offered a yarding of over 6000 sheep, all of which, with the exception of two or three small pens, found purchasers at pricos well up to lato rates. Though a clearance was effected, bidding ivas inclined to be dull, and several pens that were passed at auction were sold privately. Quotations:—Four-tooth ewes, 29b. to 295. Id.; two-tooth ewes, 205., 215., to 225. fid.; four and five-year ewes, 21s. 6d., 245„ to 255.; a.m. ewes, 15s„ 16s„ 175., to 195.; mixedage ewes, 15s. to 19s. 5d.; cull aged ewes, 7s. 6d.; woolly w.f. lambs, to 135.; b.f. lambs, 10s. 6d. to 13s. 3d.; four-year bullocks, £13 15s. PALMERSTON NORTH SHEEP PAIR. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At Paimerston North, on Thursday we held, with tho oilier firms, the annual sheep fair, when our yarding comprised about 2000 sheep, mostly low-condi-tioned ewes. There was a Bmall attendance of buyers, and the demand was poor throughout the sale. We quote ;-On account N. P. Neilsen, of Tiakitahuna, purebred two-tooth l'omney ewes, £1 35.; Hock two-tooths, 385.; fat b.f. two-tooths, 196. 4d., 21b. 6d., to 255. 6d.; four-tooth to f.f.m. ewes, 18s. lid. to 20s. 3d.'; fat ewes, 22b. 3d. to 245. 5d.; lambs, 9s. Id., 10s„ 15s. 6d., to 17b. 6d.; b.f. rams, 21 to 3 guineas; old rams, 20s.
