The New York "Evening Sun's." correspondent at Paris sums up the French official viewpoint of the senatorial opposition to President Wilson as follows: "The opposition is tho result of domestic politics rather than real antagonism to President Wilson's foreign policy. They point out that the President failed to explain what the, League is, but confined his remarks to generalisations, idealistic expressions, appeal for support, end warnings to his opponents, but he said nothing to elucidate the actual plan of working of the proposed league and its constitution.—Aiis.-N.55. NOTICEABLE SLACKENING AT PEACE TABLE DUE TO ABSENCE OF THE LEADERS. • London, March .-5. The "Daily Chronicle" correspondent at Paris states- that the absence of Mv. Lloyd George, President Wilson, M. Clemenceau, and Signer Orlando has resulted in a deplorable slackening of vigour. Every difference is allowed free ventilation and bold decisions are wantiii". .Strong leadership is needed, in the making of peace, as in war. BRITAIN'S SHARE OF THE INDEMNITY

London, March 5. The British Government views with apprehension the creation of a sullen Gerninnv, living under foreign domination. France and Italy are steadily .claiming their pound of fles,h, and the British Empire therefore, in order not to drive Germany to despair, probably will moke no money claim.
