SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
The, first concert since the miesioner's holiday was given on 'Tuesday, before ft very big audience, by Miss K. Henderson, whose programme suited. every tnste, as.was seen by the niany encores. The performers were the Misses Henderson, Chappie, and Pickthall, Messrs. Brown', H. Bethell, A.vrra. Miss Henderson was at the piano. Mrs. Duncan provided supper for. the guests. Mr. Moore, missioner, chatted on temperance, and took pledges. Cheers awarded the'concert party. A feature'of the evening wasthe presentation of'a photograph, framed in oak, •of the .'workers in the society's hospital during epidemic times. Mr. H. Dowler, who made the presentation, said it was a pleasure to risk life to save life, and he and his fellow-workers were (flwlMo have (lone it, and would dp it again. &fl\ Moore,' on receiving the gift, placed it in a prominent position, and said men would ever be grateful to those who went'out of their way to do kindly deeds to the'-sorely smitten.
