Before His Honour Mr. Justice Chapman in ■ the Divorce Court yesterday Charles William Monro petitioned for a dissolution of his marriage with Rebecca Monro on the ground of misconduct with Walter. I'\ Barnaby, who was named as the co-respondent. Sir. I'. J. O'Eegan appeared for the petitiouor, and the suit was undefended/ The petitioner said that he wns married to the respondent (it.Wellington on May 18, 1012, and they lived together for some time. His wife was always, known as ,Ne11... Ho know the co-respondent, who was known by the nickname of "Barney." ■' 'He discovered certain letters in his wife's, possession written by the co-respondent, and ht> then taxed her with infidelity, and she left the house. He discovered other matters which led to the proceedings being taken. Corroborative evidoncc having, been given, His Honour granted a decree nisi, to be made absolute in three months, with costs against the co-respond-ent on the'lowest scale. Cornelia Hume sought'a. dissolution of her marriage 'with James • Alexander Humo. on the ground of desertion. Mr. 1' Lqvi appeared for the petitioner. The parties • were married at Nelson on May 7. 1903. aiid lived together for some time. There was one child of the marriago, born on March 1, 1904. While they lived together . the respondent was continually, taking liquor and cruelly ill-used the petitioner. She left her husband about • seven years ago, and had maintainediherself and her child ever since. She had never, had a penny from her husband since ehe left.' him. A decree nisi was grnjited. to be made absolute in three months.
