SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
The annual meeting of the Sunday School Union was held last evening, when Mr. A. Hoby, president, over a good attendance of delegates. At' long service diploma was granted to a, Motueka teacher .with 84 years' continuous service to his credit. Mr. Howe s tho nowly-appointed agent for Sunday school extension work, sent a report on his labours in the Manawatu district which showed that there was ample, room for such work. Mr. Howe hopes' to establish about one new school each week if he can secure anyono who will undertake the duties of teacher. It was reported that tho Petone and Hutt ladies were taking up the matter of the Easter camp very heartily, and every* thing pointed to a very successful ing, It is expected that Auckland wilt send one or two representatives to take part in the programme. The treasurer s balance-sheet showed that the year had been « good one financially,-there being a slight, credit balance , instead of the usual deficit; this was owing to most of the schools paying 50 per cent, increase on the usual subscriptions. Officers for the coming year- were elected as follow :-President,--Miv. A. Hoby; vice-president* Rev. W. H. A. Vickery and Mr. C. H. Barratt; secretary Mr. H. J. Thompson; treasurer, Mr. W. G. Holdsnorth; auditor, Mr. B. Tai't; visitor, Mr. A. Johnston; secretary LB.R.A., Mr. 0. Sims; camp super- ' intendent, Mr. A. Johnston. .
