* TRAVELLERS' SURPRISE PACKED SCHEME. .." ■ The large number of willing workers u'ho are to be seen daily at the Commercial Travellers' Club give evidence of the great magnitude of the surprise packet scheme inaugurated by the. travellers for the dependants of the men of the mercantile marine. A number of the special prizes are on exhibition in a window of the Commercial Hotel Build--ings on Lambton Quay. There is a , great profusion of articles, including Singer sewing machine, gold and silver watches, articles of Jewellery, suit lengths, blouses, and othei articles of wearing apparel, as well as many other things which may be useful for personal use and adornment. It is impossible, of course to display in the window the motor-car, sections of land, and the prime sheep which are being given amongst the special prizes.'
