LICENSING COMMITTEE

'quarterly meeting.

The. quarterly meeting of the Wellington Licensing Committee was held yesterday, Mr. W. G. Eiddell, S.M., presiding.- Associated with him were Messrs. J. Smith, George Petherick, G. Tiller, and W. J. Heiycr, J.P.'s. "The report of the. police is satisfactory," said Mr. Kiddell. "The whole of Hie hotels have been well conducted with (ho exception of two, and these have been fairly well conducted during tho past quarter." An application for the transfer of the license of the Caledonian Hotel from B. Green to M. .T. .T. Roche was approved.

Mrs. C. J. Durrani, widow of the late A. R. Durrant, was granted permission to conduct the New Commercial Hotel in accordance with tho conditions of the license held by her deceased husband.
