John Patrick Walshe, who is charged with shooting his father, Michael Walsue, at Burnett's Face on Saturday, is I'i years of age. A domestic disturbance was at the bottom of the trouble. It is said that the father was using bad language in front of his large family and abusing his wife. Young Walshe chastised his father, who chased, him into a room. The door was locked, and'Walshe tried to get at his son through a window, when the young fellow produced a. revolver and fired two' shots. One entered the father's ncse and lodged in his mouth; the other entered below- the fifth , rib. Walshe fell to the ground, and the young fellow went to a neighbour's house and awaited arrest by a constable. Walshe, sen., was moved to Denniston-Hospital. The face wound is not serious, but that in the chest is believed to be dangerous. Young Walshe was brought in custody to Westport on Saturday evening, and lodged in prison. This morning he was brought before the Magistrate's Court and charged with causing actual grievous bodily harm. He was undefended, and was remanded till March 13,.n0 bail being asked for. Michael Walshe remains in the same condition. Late inquiries show a danger of haemorrhage setting in in the chest wound.
