It is apparently the opinion of som* people, among them the members of tho Wellington Trades Council, that the Government will have no use for the buildings at the camps at Feathorston and Trentham now that the war ia over and no moro troops will have to be trained for active service out of New Zealand. Recently tho Tades Council made a proposal to the Minister of Defence that in view of the high cost of building material and the groat scarcity of 6ome articles required tor building, the materials in the buildings at the camps should be made available for the construction of workers' homes in Wellington. I The reply of the Minister was that the request could not be acceded to, as the buildings would be put to other uses by the Department
