"HIS ITCHY NOSE"
■- 4 — COMEDY OF A "FLU" MASK. The compulsory wearing of masks in Sydnoy has given rise to vnrious comical incidents. Patrick Joseph Higginij, labourer (relates the Sydney "Sun"), wanted to wear a mask, but his nose won't let him. At least that, in effect, is what hoeaid to a police sergeant. According to the sergeant, Higgins walked a quarter of a mile with his face hare. When spoken to at the end of the journey ho pulled the mask out of his vest pocket, and said lie had taken it oft' becaurjo his nose was itchy, and he wanted to scratch it. "But," insisted the sergeant when the rase was heard in court, "I've followed you for a quarter of a mile and you never put your mask on." "Yes, I know," replied Higgins, candidly, "but mo nose keeps on gettin' itchy'with it on." The 'Magistrate committed defendant for trial. . . •
