ARRIVES BY TIIE ZEALANDIC.
At 11 o'clock yesterday morning returning draft No. 217, comprising 1021 men of all ranlts, arrived in the stream in the Zcnlandic from London. The vessel was immediately boarded by the Port Health authorities, and it was then ascertained that several case.? ot influenza had occurred on tiie vessel shortly alter her departure from England on January '8. There had been one d-?ath—a member of the crew. The vessel is now free of influenza, but all the troops have to go through inhalation treatment, which was arranged for yesterday afternoon. Representatives from the Defence Department and Base- Records were unable to board the vessel yesterday, but will do so first thing this morning. The Defence authorities announced last nteht that the Zealandic willnot berth till Friday morning, but the hour is not yet known. She will occupy a berth at the Glasgow Wharf. Yesterday afternoon a party, representing the Newspaper Proprietors and Master Printers, now sitting in conference in Wellington, ivent out in a ferry hteamer and cruised round the liner giving the troops on board a hearty welcome.
