(Rec. February 2i, 8.30 p.m.) Milan, February 20. A troop train! after climbing a steep ascent to a point 13,000 ft. high, near Trieste, detached seven coaches, containing 450 soldiers. The coaches, owing to a shunting error, descended ihe slope again, rushed headlong a distance of ten miles in ten minutes, and crashed into the terminus at Trieste. Twenty men were killed, 80 seriously. hurt, while 250 suffered lesser injuries.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
