Christcliurch, February 24. At the University Sennto to-day it was announced that the winner of tho Arnold Atkinson Memorial Prizo was Miss lit no Tosswill, of St. Albans, Chnstchuroh, J. M. Laing, Invercargill, being proximo accessit. , , The Board of Studies recommended approval of the resolution of tho Secondary Schools' Conference, subject, to tho permission of the Chancellor in each case:—"That it should bo possible for a. university entrance scholarship to bo lieul over for'a year." No action was tnkon. The Board of Studies recommended the Senate to arrange for a conimittco of the representatives of tho staffs' and councils of the four colleges to moet at tho same time as tho Senate, llio matter was referred to the affiliated colloses. Tho name of Professor H. B. Dettman nas substituted for that of the Hon. J. 4 Hanan to act as on examiner lor tho Macmillan Brown Memorial Prize to(tether with Professor Wall and Mr. H. P. von Haast, Mr. Hanan being unable to act.
