MENELAUS WINS CHIEF HANDICAP. (By'Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) Wanganui, February 22. Tho Wanganui jockey Club's Autumn Meeting wu" concluded 10-day in splendid weatner. There was ii very largo attendance, •' and the racing was oven better than on. the opening day. The gathering was easily tho most successful in the history of the club. All ten acceptors in the Autumn Handicap were saddled up. Tigritiya carried most money, and Purm Up.also was very solidly backed. Hendra wiu tho most fancied bi the others. The favourite and Otara iiiado the running, tho former leading into tne straight from Marquetour and Hendra. The lattor fmisned fast, and won-nicely from tho favourite. Dingle was: closu up third. Henry Clay was fourth.
