Christchurch, February 19. The following telegram lias been Gent by the president of the Christchurch Journalists' Union to the Acting Prima but emphatically protest against dir. Short, iIOO each; Messrs. R. L. Levin, S. R. Lancaster, A. Sutherland, .vod K Semple's statement that the report of his meeting here on Saturday evening was deliberately construed to misrepresent what he said. - Mr. Semple's 'allegation is simply the refuge that some public men fly to when they realise they havo said more than they intended to 6ay. Ample evidence of the accuracy of the report is available." A similar telegram was sent to Mr. Sernple.
