Auckland, February 10. ; 'The trial of a half-caste Maori, Edwarct Campbell, on a charge of having murder, ed his wife, Rongoivai Kemara, at DaS'gaville, on July 19 last, was commenced at the Supremo Court to-day. The Crown . Prosecutor stated that trouble had occurred between the accused and his wife over a telegram in the pocket of accused's coat. The wife wa* ( subsequently found drowned. He read certain admissions alleged.to have been made by the accused. The case for the prosecution has not yet concluded.
