The Labour members occupied the Opposition benches, including the front bench, with the Independent Liberals who are Privy Councillors; Sir Donald Maclean, Mr. J. Hodge,. Mr. J. R. Clynos, Mr. Will Thome, Mr. Will. Crooks, and Mr. W. Adamson sitting on the front bench. Mr. F. B. Mildmay, proposed' the reelection of Sir James Lowther as Speaker, and Sir Henry who eecohded the proposal, paid a tribute to Sir James Lowther, and high appreciation of the Speaker's duties. rSir James Lowther accepted re-election, and recalled the fact that he. had presided-over the House of Commons in the momentous days of the outbreak of war.
