ADVISING OFFICER COMING. Some time ago application was made to Iho War Office by the New Zealand Defence authorities to appoint an expert aviation officer to come to this country to advise the Government on aviation questions. The officer appointed was Lieut.-Colonel Bonham Carter.. Subsequently it was found that, he" - could not com?, and Lieut.-Oolonel Pettington was nppointed in his stead. The Defence Minister said yesterday that Colonel Pettington, with the New Zealand aviator Major Brandon.D.S.O., had already sailed for New Zealand.
