A TRAGIC FATALITY
SHOT-GUN ACCIDENT,
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, February 5. A well-known resident of Onehunga, Mr. K, 8. Martin, died this afternoon as tho result of an accident. Deceased had been ill for a long time, and was resting in his garden when he decided to shoot some quail which were a source of annoyance. He procured a shot-gun, and was proceeding down the garden, when, owing to his weak state, he and fell, causing the gun to be fired. The whole charge entered his abdomen. A medical man was sent for, and decided upon an immediate operation. A surgeon was summoned from Auckland, but just as the operation terminated the patient died from shock and haemorrhage.
