OBITUARY

COLONEL C. MACKIE BEGG, C.8., C.M.G. ' News was received by the Defence Department yesterday that Colonel C. Mackie Begs, C.8.," C.M.G., of the New Zealand Medical Corps, has died in England of influenza. Colonel Begg was just about to leave for Now Zealand,, where ho was to have taken the position of Director of Medical Services in succession to Surgeon-General Henderson, who is ehorUy returning Home. Colonel Begg was a well-known and highly-esteemed practitioner in Wellington, and he had been on service abrond sinco the earliest days of the New Zealandere' campaign.
