4 Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.lf., presided at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday, and dealt with the police cases. On a charge of using obscene language on Lamblon Quay on Friday afternoon, James Cass, was sentenced to 21 days' imprisonment, lie haying broti previously convicted for a similar offence. Myer Myers, who was released OVI bail of JCSO in 'his own recognisance, on a charge of theft of a diamond ring valued at .£2O, the property of Jeff Johnson, failed' to appear, and u warrant was issued for his arrest. James M'Donald, who admitted the theft of a cont and a pair of trousers valued at. ,£IG, tho property of William Thomas Gray, was remanded tjll February 15.
