* INCREASED SALARIES OBTAINED. By" Telegraph-Press Association. Dunedin, February I. An agreement with a currency of three years has been entered into between the Merchant Service Guild and the Union Company as to salaries and working conditions. Captain F. A. Macindoe (secretary of the Merchant Service Guild) stated on Saturday that an agreement had been reached 'between the guild and the Union Company in reference to the guild's demands for increased salaries. A conference between Mr. B. Burke and Captain Macindoe (representing the guild), and Captain M'Donald (representing the company), extended over two days. The new terms are not quite what the guild expected, but Captain Macindoe states that in'view of the friendly nature of the negotiations, he thinks members will be quite satisfied.
