Carney, of Messrs. .Armour and Co.', Christchurch. has received cable •advice from Mr. Baker, United States Secretary for War, stating that his apthe United Stnt'-'s in connection with tlie purchase of New Zealand -wool has been confirmed. This refers to the purchase by the Tjuited States-'Government of 100,000 ba:es of " New Zealand wool'from the Imperial Government. The shipping-is being arranged' by the American Government, and four steamers have already left with part of the purchase. The wool has ' been selected by the Government valuers, and will be representative of the different qualities of which the New Zealand clip, is composed.
