The matter is not so much the ratio of increase entailed in the price oi admission as it is the awkwardness entailed upon the public and the management in dealing with the odd pence at the ticketboxes. The total yield from this tax approximates i<o.ooo, but what it costs to collect that sum may discount the value Of the tax. It i<s generally supposed that this is one form of taxation winch will be reconsidered as soon as pence « formally signed.
