THE BRITISH NAVY
AN AMERICAN PAPEE'S EULOGY. New York, January 21. The Now York "Horald" says "editorially that critics of the British Navy have been lately too fond of saying that the British' Fleet won in the war by shear numerical strength. The truth is that Admiral Beatty'e triumph was due not only to numerical strength but to the superior valour of the personnel. In the race for supremacy tho British, buildera surpassed their German rivals. Ton for ton the British vessels were better fighting ehips. This fact was nccepted by the: Germans who, after the Battle of Jutland, did not daro to come out and accept battle.—-Aue.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
