RIFLE SHOOTING
THE "WELLINGTON UNION. — . f The annual meeting of the Wellington City and Suburban Rifle Clubs' TJnion was attended by delegates from the lactone, Karori, Suburbs, and Old Navals Clubs. It was decided to hold the competition for the union's senior chaDipionsiiip shield on February 8 and the junior shield competition en February 15. As the membership of the several clubs is now very much depleted as a. result of the war tho union agreed that tho teams for tho junior shield match shall consist of eight men instead of ten as is the usual practice. Tho matches will be fired at 300 yards, 600 yards, and 600 yards distances; seven shots at each. The ■union decided to award trophies to the highest individual scorers in both competitions. Officers of the union for the ensuing vear were elected as follow :— Chairman, President J. Rabe (Old Navals); deputy-chairman, ' President W. G. Fellingham (Suburbs); hon. secretary, Rifleman H. V. Croxton (Karori).
