METHODIST CHURCH
WELLINGTON SOUTH CIRCUIT. The quarterly meeting .was held on I Monday night at Trinity Church. The Rev. E. Drake occupied the chair, and the Rev. Dr. Pinfold and a good number of officials were present. Resolutions of condolence were passed to several families in the circuit who had suffered bereavement through the recent epidemic. Membership returns showed 327 senior and 108 junior. It wqs reported that tho three Sunday Schools had reopened, and were promising well. The balancesheet showed that over £166 had been raised for the Island Bay furnishing fund. £33 17s. 2d. for anniversary, £11, 6s. 9d. for the North Island, Methodist Orphanage, £2 Is. 3d. for the local preachers' fund, and over £30 for home missions. The genera] income for the quarter was £220 ■ 7b. 7d., showing a deficit owing to special circumstances. It was decided to make a effort in February in connection with the harvest festivals to wipe off the circuit deficit, Messrs. S. Martin and R. Withington wero ircappointed • circuit stewards and Messrs. C. Swinoy and J. Webb auditors. Messrs. C.' M. Luke and* C. Swiney were appointed representatives to conference, with Messrs. R. E. Herron and Davis as substitute's.
