The society ivill be conducted-as .'a .bra'nch of. tho Women's National Reserve, and as the work carried on by thai very line organisation of women during the-war is already lvoll knon-i* throughout - New Zealand we need not hero ..say .anything furthor oxcept that it is-now keenly on the look out for further fields of use-' fulness. The society is for .the sole, object of helping our mothers, and,; by doing- so, helping our nation.to recover from its creat losses through this, terrible war just closed. 'We all, know that that can only be done by the doepest interest in. the , welfare, of-our children; AVe fear, too, the want, of help in tlio homes for mothers is too well known to require further. comment. The society has a.band of workers who are willing to give a. few hours a week to relieve the oyerworked' mother by "taking out her little children, and thus-allowing her time for a few quiet ..moments to herself, to rest 'hor body and refresh her mind, and so> enable- her- to- carry out her duties as:a mother, instead of feeling too tired and 1 - overstrained to enjey. God's. most precious., gift to women—lier children.---•.•• <-■- "Wβ are-glad to say.that .all the ladies with whom -we -liave- discussed' the objects of the.: society are. iinani-' mous.in their support. ■ "Wo regret the. absence of Mrs. Massey and. Lady Ward, . who were deeply interested in the work of the society, and_ we feel sure of .their support on their return to New Zealand." Tt is to be hoped that the project will meet with the success it deserves.
